Mumbai, Bhuj, Gondal, Palitana, Ahmedabad, Dhar, Indore, Bhopal


Tour Detail:

Day 01   Arrival  Mumbai  / Bhuj 

 Meeting, assistance on arrival, and transfer to domestic airport for flight to Bhuj.  On arrival check-in at the hotel. Bhuj: The princely state of Jadeja rulers. The old walled city is the most important town in that area. The oldest museum in Gujarat is located in Bhuj, see Aiana mahal museum and palace museum.

Day 02   Bhuj

 After breakfast visit various tribes in the banni tribal villages visiting Dhamakta center for vegetable and block paintings,  Dhirdo village,  Hodka  Tribe. Thereafter return to Bhuj for overnight stay

Day 03   Bhuj

After breakfast excursion to other tribal villages visiting Bhujodi  (10 km southeast) of the main road is the center for pit loom weaving.  The weavers have now been organized into a cooperative.  They produce colorful galichas (carpets), durries (rugs), dhablos (blankets), and other items from wool, camel/goat hair, cotton, and even synthetic fibers.  Some embroidery a tie-and-dye can be seen here as well.

 Day 04    Bhuj/Gondal

Early morning, after breakfast drive Bhuj/Gondal (approx 300 km – 7 hrs).  On arrival check-in at the hotel. In the afternoon,  sightseeing tour of Gondal – experience the pleasure of living like the royal guest of the maharaja at a stately home in the heart of Saurashtra, literally the land of a 100 kingdoms, while seeing a variety of magnificent wildlife, attractive birds, spectacular  architectural masterpieces, masters of folk, craftsmanship and devotional monuments, including some of the most impressive Jain temple complexes in India and much-revered Swaminarayan temple at Gondal

Day 05  Gondal / Mt. Girnar /Gondal  

After breakfast full-day excursion to mount Girnar. Return to Gondal for overnight stay.

 *take packed lunch from the hotel. Ensure you tell the hotel upon arrival about the same.

Day 06   Gondal/ Palitana

After breakfast drive to Palitana (approx 200 km – 5 hrs)… On arrival check-in at the hotel. In the afternoon sightseeing tour of Palitana temples – one of the five sacred places for the followers of the Jain faith, Palitana is a conglomeration of temples on the Shetrunjay hill.

Day 07    Palitana / Bhavnagar /Ahmedabad

After breakfast drive to Ahemdabad visiting  Bhavnagar and Lothal en route. Bhavnagar – is a port town on the southeast coast of Saurashtra.  It was founded in 1743 by Bhavsin ji Gohil, a Rajput ruler whose forefather had migrated from  Marwar. Bhavnagar is a prosperous town with a good  cultural and educational center.  Lothal: An archaeological ruins of the 2400-1600BC Indus valley citadel with dockyard acropolis, bead factory, and a site museum. On arrival check-in at the hotel.  

Day 08   Ahemdabad 

After breakfast full day sightseeing tour of Ahmedabad visiting Jumma masjid,  Siddi Sayyad mosque, Dada Hari ni vav, Hatheesingh temple, Sabarmati ashram.

Day 09   Ahemdabad

After breakfast full day excursion to Modhera, Patan and Sidhpur.. 

Sidhpur: 12th-century Rudramalya temple with beautiful Torana gates, Havelis, Kartika Poornima camel fair.  Then drive to Sidhpur/Patan (29 km). Patan: 11th century old, well-maintended stepwell, Jain temples, and Havelis. Of-course patola silk weaving of Patan is also very famous. Modhera : visit sun temple over 950 years old, the sun temple at Modhera is not only one of the finest examples of Hindu architecture in Gujarat but ranks among the few magnificent monuments in the country. 

Day 10   Ahemdbad/Dhar 

 After breakfast drive  to Dhar (300 km/8 hrs).  On arrival check-in at hotel.

Day 11    Dhar/Mandu/Dhar

After breakfast full day sightseeing tour of Mandu  “city of joy” – for centuries, a pleasure resort of many Hindu and Muslim rulers, mandu though in ruins, still possesses an atmosphere of romance and mystery.  Return to Dhar for overnight stay

Day 12     Dhar/Omkareshwr/Maheswar/Indore

After breakfast drive to Indore visiting Omkareshwar & Maheshwar en route. On arrival check-in at the hotel.  

 Day 13   Indore/Ujjain/Bhopal

After breakfast drive Indore/Bhopal visiting Ujjain to see Mahakaleshwar Shiva temple en route.  Thereafter continue drive to Bhopal. On arrival check-in at the hotel.

Day 14    Bhopal

Full day excursion to Sanchi: Sanchi is an important centre of Buddhist pilgrimage.  The great stupa, built by king Ashok’ (who abandoned war and embraced the Buddhist faith), is a grey-brown hemisphere of massive proportions. The form of the four gateways guarding the stupa is derived from bamboo fences. They are carved with scenes from the buddha’s life and previous incarnations and are amongst the finest specimens of early Buddhist art.

Day 15    Bhopal/Bhojpur/Bhimbetka/Bhopal. 

Full day excursion to Bhimbetka & Bhojpur. Bhojpur – founded by the legendry Parmar king of Dhar – Raja Bhoj (1010-53) and named after him, Bhojpur, 28 km from Bhopal is renowned for the remains of its magnificent shiv temple and cyclopean dam. Bhimbetka – surrounded by the northern fringe of the Vindhya ranges, Bhimbetka lies 40km south of Bhopal. In the rocky terrain of dense forest and craggy cliffs, there are over 700 rocks shelters.

Day 16   Bhopal /Mumbai

After breakfast sightseeing tour of Bhopal city… Bhopal city: visit Sadar manzil, Jama masjid, taj-ul-masjid, taj mahal secretariat, Vidhan sabha, Fatehgarh fort, Moti masjid, Tagore memorial, national archives of India and t.t. Nagar etc. In the evening transfer to the airport for flight to Mumbai. On arrival check-in at the hotel.

 Day 17   Mumbai Departure

 After Breakfast Full day sightseeing tour of Mumbai city.  Later in the evening transfer to the airport for flight to onward destination.
